THE GOLDEN TONES
"AN EXTRA MEASURE FOR YOUR DANCING PLEASURE"
ABOUT THE BAND
The Golden Tones have been playing polka music for well over thirty years now. Richie Machey and a bunch of teenagers from the Hazleton area got together to play polka music. Influenced by bands like Eddie Blazonczyk and The Polskie Swingmaster, The Golden Tones came up with their own unique style of polka music. Though some of the musicians have changed over the years, the drive style is still there. The Golden Tones have performed in many states in the northeast including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Conneticut. They have performed at many functions such as polka weekends and festivals, picnics, polka dances, weddings, parades, house parties and TV shows.
The six musicians in the band are; Richie Machey, (sax, clarinet and vocals) Jerome Machey, (trumpet and vocals) Joe Krzysik, (accordion keyboards and vocals), A.J. Wanyo, (drums) Mike Yevich, (accordion, trumpet, guitar, bass and vocals) and Paul Pehala, (accordion, concertina and vocals).
All of these guys have been playing music for over thirty years, totaling over 200 years of polka music experience. The guys in the band all have a love for polka music and it keeps their drive alive. So, if you hear that The Golden Tones are playing nearby, we hope you come out to hear the band. Richie, Jerome, Joe, A.J., Mike and Paul would love to meet you. Will even play a song just for you.
